Milton ON - On a cool overcast day at Trafalgar Golf & Country Club in Milton, Ed Maunder (Deerfield GC) played early and set a pace no one could catch. Maunder made 6 birdies and one bogey en route to a 5 under par 66 on the par 71 layout to capture GHT Event #2 Trafalgar by 5 shots. Maunder's lone bogey came on the par 5 8th hole.
"I couldn't find the club face on the range in my warm up until my last two drives, which I hit well." said Maunder of his range session prior to playing. "Then I got on the first tee and striped it. The rest of the round I felt good."
With the win Maunder opens the GHT season with back to back victories. Finishing in runner up position for the second straight event was Reg Millage (The Golf Lab) who fired an even par 71. In solo third with a one over par 72 was Jim Zwolak (Glen Abbey Academy). Rounding out the top 5 was 2011 John H. Davis Cup Champion Alf Callowhill (Glen Abbey Academy) and Brett Walker (Hidden Lake GC) who tied fourth with 2 over par 73's....
