FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Milton ON - Granite Ridge Golf Club in Milton tested the players, as cool temperatures and moderate winds combined with tough pin locations allowed only one player to break par.  2011 John H. Davis Cup Champion Alf Callowhill (Glen Abbey Academy) shot 1 under par 71 to win GHT Event #3 Granite Ridge by one shot over Jim Kenesky (Golf Genius Software).

Callowhill's round of 71 featured 3 birdies and two bogies.  The two bogies carded were on the par 5 7th and par 5 15th.  However, the 7th hole was ranked as the toughest hole averaging 6.0 strokes while the 15th hole was playing as the 2nd toughest averaging 5.9 strokes.  Not often do any par 5's play as the most difficult holes in a professional field.

Jim Kenesky played the par 5's at one under par for the day in a round that featured 3 birdies and 3 bogies.  Two bogies were the result of 3 putts on holes 6 and 13.  Kenesky made another bogey on the 17th that dropped him to 1 over.  A chip in birdie on 18 closed the gap to one shot, but was not good enough to catch Callowhill....

Finishing in third spot alone was David Banks (David Banks Simply Golf Academy) who shot 75.  Banks played earlier in the day at the PGA of Ontario Senior Spring Championship in Sarnia, then drove 2 hours to play Granite Ridge.  He then drove back to prepare for the second round in Sarnia.  Dan Greenwood (Heron Point GL) and David Moro (Credit Valley G&CC) tied for fourth with scores of 76.

CaddyPro Order of Merit

In the CaddyPro Order of Merit and Race to the John H. Davis Cup, Ed Maunder (Deerfield GC) still leads the way with 63 points.  Alf Callowhill, makes a big jump up the standings and now sits in second with 49 points.  Reg Millage (The Golf Lab) and Jim Kenesky share 3rd with 46 points.  Sitting in a tie for 16th and the last playoff spot is Brian Williams (Pipers Heath) and Jeff Lunn (Glendale) with 13 points.

CaddyPro Senior Order of Merit

In the CaddyPro Senior Order of Merit, Brian Hutton (Trafalgar G&CC) has a commanding lead with 36 points.  John Davis (Joshua Creek) sits in second with 24 points.  With the win in the Senior Division, David Banks jumps on to the leaderboard with 15 points and should be a force in the events to come.  The CaddyPro Senior Order of Merit runs over all 8 events and the player who accumulates the most points will be deemed the winnner.

Underground Golf Money List & Trimark Challenge

Ed Maunder leads the Underground Golf Money List with a total of $1,195.00 earned through three events.  While Alf Callowhill jumps to second with $812.50.  Brett Walker leads the Trimark Challenge with a total score of 3 under par through three events.  The Trimark Challenge is similar to the former Kodak Challenge on the PGA Tour.  At each event the 18th hole is used and the player that accumulates the lowest total score to par at the end of the season with at least 6 events played will be the champion.
