FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Milton ON - Granite Ridge Golf Club in Milton tested the players, as cool temperatures and moderate winds combined with tough pin locations allowed only one player to break par. 2011 John H. Davis Cup Champion Alf Callowhill (Glen Abbey Academy) shot 1 under par 71 to win GHT Event #3 Granite Ridge by one shot over Jim Kenesky (Golf Genius Software).
Callowhill's round of 71 featured 3 birdies and two bogies. The two bogies carded were on the par 5 7th and par 5 15th. However, the 7th hole was ranked as the toughest hole averaging 6.0 strokes while the 15th hole was playing as the 2nd toughest averaging 5.9 strokes. Not often do any par 5's play as the most difficult holes in a professional field.
Jim Kenesky played the par 5's at one under par for the day in a round that featured 3 birdies and 3 bogies. Two bogies were the result of 3 putts on holes 6 and 13. Kenesky made another bogey on the 17th that dropped him to 1 over. A chip in birdie on 18 closed the gap to one shot, but was not good enough to catch Callowhill....
