Milton ON - As the golf season winds down and most golf professionals are heading into winter hibernation, we sometimes find ourselves looking back on the season that was. The Golden Horseshoe Area Golf Tour finished up their regular schedule on Tuesday with the final event held at Glencairn Golf Club in Milton ON. The par 72 links layout was very scorable and two players were in complete control of their games. Ciaran McAleavey (Glen Abbey), probably the hottest player in the PGA of Ontario over the last portion of the season, fired a 4 under par 68 to share the win with Josh Doan (Rattlesnake Point). Doan did most of his damage on the par 5's as he played them 5 under par. His round featured 7 birdies in total and carded 3 bogeys to complete his round of 68. McAleavey fired an outward nine of 32 where he made 4 birdies in the first 6 holes. He also carded 7 birdies and 3 bogeys to post his 68. Brian Hutton (Southbrook G&CC) and Jim Zwolak (Glen Abbey Academy) finished in a tie for third as they shot 2 under par 70's. Mark Napier (Glen Abbey) most likely had the best chance to win the event outright. Napier made two untimely double bogey 7's on the par 5's late in his front nine to post an outward nine of 39. His back nine featured 4 birdies for an inward score of 32 and a one under par 71 to finish in fifth place alone. In the Playoff portion and the Race to the John H. Davis Cup....
